There were three reasons for buying a personalised vehicle tracking system. Firstly because of tax legislation. A number of our field staff had indicated their intention to limit their private mileage with a company vehicle to no more than 500 km and Fieldlog is an excellent way of demonstrating that. Furthermore, the GPRS data we receive from Fieldlog keeps us continually up to date with the whereabouts of our three emergency service vehicles and glass installers. When emergencies are reported, we can immediately see which vehicle is the closest to the customer and offer a fast response. Fieldlog also allows us to give customers detailed information about journey times and the hours worked by our staff.
We have weekly timesheets which all our staff use to fill in the hours they have worked. This information is compared with data provided by Fieldlog. That gives us a complete picture.
Fieldlog's ability to log time and mileage against individual employees allows us to check compliance with our working hours. Starting work late or going home early are things of the past. Speeding fines are also no longer a problem. When one of our vehicles is caught exceeding the speed limit, we know exactly who was driving at the time.”
